The Green Multimedia Limited’s satellite broadcasting services have been suspended due to repeated failure to pay broadcasting service dues and repeated breach of terms of notices sent for payment of arrears.
Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited has taken this action on Monday, said a BSCL press release.
Re-transmission service will be provided to the Green TV subject to payment of all dues within specified time. Otherwise, the BSCL will cancel the existing contract and take action as per the rules to collect the dues, said the press release, adding that the service provided to the TV was stopped four times before.
‘Due to the commitment to pay the arrears, however, service activities were resumed,’ the press release mentioned.Â
The Green TV has an agreement with the BSCL to provide television rating points services along with satellite based broadcasting services. Their TRP service, however, has been stopped since May due to non-payment of bills as per the service agreement. Currently, the cancellation of the contract is in process.
BSCL is in the process of recovering dues from several other customer institutions, said the BSCL, adding that similar action might be taken if there was no promising improvement in the dues situation of the institutions.
