One more youth who was injured as received bullets during the student-led mass uprising died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Bangladesh capital Dhaka Friday night.

The victim is Muhammad Hasan, 30, a resident of the Jatrabari area.


He hailed from Lalmohan upazila in Bhola.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia confirmed the news.

Kabir, father of Hasan, said that Hasan used to work at a wholesale vegetable market in the Jatrabari area.

He sustained bullet injuries on August 5 amid the student-led mass uprising that forced former prime minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and flee to India.

Hasan was rushed to the DMCH on that day and breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital at about 12:00am, said Kabir.

He is a father of two children, added Kabir.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in a report on August 16 said that 650 people were killed between July 16 and August 11 during student protests in Bangladesh.
