Md Rezaul Karim

Engineer Md Rezaul Karim will take charge as the 39th chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board today, said a press release on Saturday.

He was appointed chairman of the BPDB in the notification issued by the Power Department on August 22.


He replaced former chairman engineer Md Mahbubur Rahman.

Rezaul Karim obtained his BSc degree in electrical engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in 1989.

In 1991, he joined the Power Development Board as an assistant engineer. He served as sub-divisional engineer, executive engineer and manager in the Khulna power station.

In April 2018, he was appointed on lien as deputy project director at the Maitree super thermal power project and Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company.

He also served as additional chief engineer, and chief engineer at Bangladesh Power Development Board, Chittagong.
