A joint operation began across the country in an effort to recover illegal firearms Tuesday midnight.
According to the home affairs ministry statement, issued on Tuesday, the joint operation would start across the country against illegal firearms at 12:00am.
Earlier, the interim government suspended all license of firearms issued during the Awami League government.
The government also asked gun owners to submit their firearms and ammunition along with the suspended licences to the relevant police stations within September 3.
