
The ‘Dua Mahfil’ in memory of Irfan Bhuiyan, a student of United International University and all martyrs of anti-discrimination student movement, to highlight the glorious movement to new generation, inauguration of ‘Independence Corner’ at UIU library was held on Monday on its campus in Dhaka.
Hasan Mahmood Raja, chairman, board of trustees of UIU, KM Ahsan Shamim, member, board of trustees of UIU, professor Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice-chancellor of UIU, Md Abdul Moqaddem, treasurer, UIU, professor emeritus M Rezwan Khan, executive director of IAR, UIU and Md Zulfiqur Rahman, registrar of UIU were present.
From the event, all were requested to pray for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs, including Irfan Bhuiyan, a student of computer science and engineering department, UIU and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
‘Independence Corner’ at UIU library was inaugurated by professor Md Abul Kashem Mia. The history and data of the anti-discrimination student movement will be preserved and constantly enriched in the corner.
The faculty members, officials, students, guardians and other distinguished guests were present in the programme.
