
The central coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement held a meeting with the students of Barishal University on Monday.
They stressed effective role of students against corruption, injustice and extortion to implement overall reforms successfully.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the BU unit of anti-discrimination student movement at the Jibanananda Das conference room of the university on Monday afternoon.
After the meeting, the coordinators met with the families of martyrs and injured in the mass uprising.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by Abdul Hannan Masud. Sanjana Afifa Aditi, MA Sayeed, Ryan Ferdous, Cynthia Jahan Ayesha, Hasibul Hossain Shanto, Mobaswera Karim Mimi, Shahidul Islam Shahed, Tauhid Ahmed Ashiq, Jihad Hossain. The speakers said that the students of the country have overthrown the dictator government through a mas uprising.
‘The goal of this revolution should not be failed like the previous political changes. Therefore, the students must unite to reform the governance. Otherwise, the main goal of the revolution will fail to form a united nation,’ the visiting leaders said.
The local student leaders said, ‘We the young generation want to free the country from bribery, corruption, extortion and looting. We want to work to stop genocide and killing of people at the border.’
At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for the peace of the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the injured.
