
The Bio-Clean BD supported by the Student Society for Climate Change Awareness has recently organised a workshop titled Easy and Impactful Climate Change Practices at Home at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh in Dhaka.聽
Held on September 7, the workshop focused on educating school students about reducing food waste and adopting sustainable practices within their households, said a press release on Saturday.
Special guests at the event included lecturer and research associate at the ULAB鈥檚 Center for Sustainable Development Sameera Zaman, and Shahana Afroz Chowdhury, associate professor at ULAB and researcher at the CSD.
A key highlight of the event was a live demonstration on making bio-enzyme cleaners from common household waste such as citrus peels, water, and jaggery.
Students actively participated in the process, with the organisers guiding them through each step.
The workshop also featured an educational quiz centring on climate-related topics, and an exhibition that showcased student-created artwork addressing issues like food waste, plastic pollution, and climate change.
Sharfuddin Ashbin, leader of the SSCCA BD Team 17, highlighted the importance of simple actions at home in combating climate change.
