Chief adviser to the interim government professor Muhammad Yunus on Sunday visited the army headquarters for the first time after assuming his office.

On his arrival, chief of army staff general Waker-Uz-Zaman welcomed the chief adviser, an Inter-Services Public Relations press release said.


Foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain, home affairs adviser lieutenant general (retired) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, chief adviser’s special assistant on defence and national solidarity lieutenant general (retired) Abdul Hafiz, cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain, navy and air force chiefs, PSO AFD, senior military and civilian officers, inspector general of police and director generals of intelligence agencies, Border Guard Bangladesh, Coast Guard, Ansar and VDP, Rapid Action Battalion and senior officials of army headquarters were present.

During the visit, professor Yunus was briefed on important issues of national security.

‘Valuable directives, given by the chief adviser during his visit, will be very helpful in playing an effective role in every aspect of formulation and implementation of the future action plan collectively,’ the release read.
