A 19-year-old college girl on Sunday filed a fraud case with the Gazipur Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against six police officials, including former Gazipur superintendent of police Kazi Shafiqul Alam and former Joydepur police station officer-in-charge Syed Md Mizanur Rahman.

The victim, in the case statement, alleged that OC Mizanur stayed with her at places like a couple in Manikganj and Gazipur until January 17 this year by arranging a ‘fake marriage’.

OC Mizanur was made officer on special duty and is now attached to Gazipur District Police Lines, while the former Gazipur SP Kazi Shafiqul Alam is now attached to the office of the Mymensingh Range Deputy Inspector General of Police.

The other accused in the case are former Gazipur district additional superintendent of police Sanowar Hossain, former additional SP for Sadar circle Mirazul Islam, the district detective branch officer-in-charge Delowar Hossain and the SP office’s stenographer Md Abdul Karim, the plaintiff’s lawyer Siddikur Rahman said.

He said that the court asked the Police Bureau of Investigation to investigate the case.

According to the case statement, members of Gazipur DB police rescued the girl from a resort at night following January 17 after receiving a call from the victim.

On the following day, OC Mizanur married the girl in the presence of his first wife with the advice of former SP and OC DB to avoid any rape case, the statement added.

The statement also said that the OC did not stay a single day with the victim after their marriage and divorced her secretly on April 12 this year.

The victim also filed a complaint with the Police Headquarters and the district former SP formed a three-member probe committee comprising former additional SP Sanowar Hossain and Mirazul Islam along with DB OC Delowar Hossain.

The committee had submitted a probe report being influenced by accused Mizan, she alleged.

The victim’s family then filed a complaint with the SP office but did not get any remedy.

Asked about the matter, Joydepur police station’s former OC Mizanur said that he married the girl and divorced her following the law.
