Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited in several drives has cut illegal gas connections and imposed fine on people involved in those illegal gas connections, said a press release on Friday.
On Thursday, as a part of the regular campaign aimed at rooting out illegal gas connections, an illegal gas connection eviction campaign was conducted in Dhaka and Gazipur鈥檚 Konabari, Chandra, Sonargaon, Nayapaltan, Savar, Ashulia and Kaliganj, Keraniganj under Titas gas.
877 residential, 1 commercial and 2 illegal industrial connection has been disconnected along with 5 kilometres of illegal gas pipelines, said the press release, adding that this saved an estimated monthly cost of Tk 16.75 lakh.
Conducting raids for several days in different areas of Keraniganj, the authorities cleared large quantities of illegal gas lines and imposed fines on people involved in illegal gas connections, added the press release.
