A youth was killed in a clash between two rival groups of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal over establishing dominance in Chandgaon area of Chattogram city Friday evening.
The deceased Zubayer Uddin Babu, 25, was a resident of Foidya Pukurpar area in Kazi Pole of Chailatoli and the son of late Kamal Uddin.
The incident took place at about 6:00pm on the day in front of the ward no-4 councillor鈥檚 office. Zubayer, who was critically injured in the clash, was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he died to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Suman Barua, sub-inspector of Chandgaon police station said that a clash between two groups occurred near the councillor鈥檚 office in the old Chandgaon area.
Two people were injured from stab wounds in the clash. They were taken to CMCH while Zubayer died while undergoing treatment, the police official added.
