At least four people, including three women apparel workers, were killed and 23 others were injured in two road crashes in Manikganj and Sirajganj on Thursday.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Manikganj reported that three women workers were killed and 20 others were injured after bus carrying apparel workers crashed into a truck on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Shibalay in the district.


The deceased, Beethi Aktar, 28, Phuli Aktar, 32, and Sabina, 20, were from Teota and Shibalay unions in the district.

People of the area said that the bus was carrying workers to the Tarashima Garments Factory in Manikganj.

The incident occurred as the bus head-on collision with a truck in the Bowali Bridge area, said Barangail highway police station officer-in-charge Md Ibrahim.

Two people died on the spot while another died after being taken to the Uthli Hospital, the OC said, adding that taking legal measures was under way.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a youth was killed and three others were injured in a road crash on the Bogura-Nagarbari highway at Parkola Bazar in Shahzadpur of Sirajganj.

The deceased was Meraj Mandal, 18.

The police said that when a truck collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw at Parkola Bazar, Meraj died on the spot and three others injured.

The injured people are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
