American International University-Bangladesh former architecture student Forhat Nazib Chowdhury has been awarded the Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic years at the University of California, Davis in the United States.

This fellowship, part of the Fulbright programme under the US Department of State, will allow her to delve deeper into her impactful areas of focus, including the natural resources, environmental policy, and climate change, said an AIUB press release on Thursday.

Graduated from the AIUB in 2014, Forhat鈥檚 dedication to humanitarian work honed through her previous experience with the Save the Children in Bangladesh, which has profoundly shaped her commitment to environmental advocacy.

She credits this transformative journey with helping her evolve into a compassionate professional, ready to tackle the pressing challenges of our time.

Another AIUB architecture student, Nahid Ferdous Dristy, has been selected for the prestigious fulbright foreign student programme as she embarks on a new journey to pursue a master of urban and regional planning at the Michigan State University.

Dristy graduated from AIUB in 2015. Her passion for architecture and sustainable urban development has already left a mark in her role as a research architect at the Housing and Building Research Institute.
