
The Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University on Friday distributed chicks, rice seedlings, chemical fertilisers and pesticides in order to rehabilitate the flood victims.
The SAU distributed 5,000 chickens, 30 bighas of rice seedlings, chemical fertilisers and pesticides among the marginal farmers held at Shibpur Government Primary School of Brahmanpara in Cumilla, said a press release.
The BR-75 rice seedlings were distributed to 25 farmers, Bina-17 to 30 farmers and the BR-23 rice seedlings to 20 farmers.
Research director of the SAU Pofessor FM Aminuzzaman, guest house in-charge Md Arfan Ali, chief farm supervisor Md Lutfur Rahman Mridul, public relations officer Md Nazrul Islam, senior vice-president of Dhaka Bank Katebur Rahman, Students’ Movement Against Discrimination coordinator Md Rana Islam, Sabbir Ahmed, Zahid Hasan, Md Mofiz Sheikh, SM Zahid Hussain and Noor Islam, and agriculture officer Md Mustafa Kamal as a local representative, were present at the event.
