
The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh on Wednesday said that top 10 universities in the United States expressed their interest in cooperation in improving the quality of higher education and research in Bangladesh.
This cooperation will be provided through the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, said a UGC press release.
Officials of the public diplomacy section of the US embassy in Dhaka expressed this interest in a courtesy meeting with the UGC chairman Professor SMA Faiz at the UGC.
The UGC members Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, and the UGC secretary Md Fakhrul Islam, while the US embassy public affairs counsellor Stephen Ebelli, deputy director Bren Flanigan and public engagement specialist Raihana Sultana, among others, were present at the meeting.
The UGC chairman expressed his gratitude to the delegation for expressing their interest in cooperation with the top universities of the United States in improving the quality of higher education and research in the country.
