Bangladesh鈥檚 interim government has sent police鈥檚 Special Branch chief Md Shah Alam on retirement on Thursday.
A gazette notification, signed by Abu Sayeed, deputy secretary of the Public Security Division of home ministry, was issued on Thursday in this regard.
According to Section 43(1) of the Public Service Act-2018, additional inspector general Shah Alam has been sent on retirement upon completion of his 59-year service career, it reads.
Earlier on August 13 this year, he was appointed as the head of the SB.
He joined Bangladesh police as assistant police super on January 20, 1991.
