The National Review Committee invited people to submit evidences or information regarding corruption in power and energy sector, according to a public notification issued by the ministry of power, energy and mineral resources on Thursday.

The committee also decided to collect documents and data related to 11 power plants.


The committee requested people to submit their complaints and relevant documents to help investigate deals signed under the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) Act 2010 (Amendment 2021) during the previous Awami League regime.

Individuals with evidences or information regarding corruption under the aforesaid contracts can submit their complaints to the committee via email ([email protected]) between October 4-31.

The committee will take necessary measure after communicating with the complainant and accused person or his institution or organisation to this end.

The notification also said that the committee would take initiatives for collecting necessary information and support from companies and organisation concerned, engaging various activities by signing contracts under the special act.

The committee requested all television channels to broadcast this announcement in a scrolling format.

On September 5, a five-member committee, headed by retired High Court division justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, was formed to review contracts signed under the special act.

Meanwhile, the review committee decided to collect data on 11 power plants in its second meeting on Saturday at Bidyut Bhaban.

According to an energy ministry statement issued on Thursday, the committee asked the power, energy and mineral resources to provide all information-data and documents of 11 power plants – Meghnaghat 583 MW Dual Fuel, Baghabari 200 MW HSD, Patuakhali 150 MW HFO, Mongla 100 MW, Ashuganj 150 MW HFO, Manikganj 162 MW HFO, Kodda 300 MW HFO, Sundarganj 200 MW, Lalmonirhat 30 MW, Sutiakhali 50 MW and Godda – to the committee.
