Chief adviser鈥檚 special assistant Mahfuj Alam on Saturday said that the government would form a search committee following the existing law to constitute a new Election Commission for taking forward the relevant activities to hold the next national election.
鈥楾he interim government鈥檚 鈥榥on-partisan and neutral鈥� approach will continue in this process without any political influence,鈥� Mahfuj said during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the evening.
CA鈥檚 press secretary Shafiqul Alam and deputy press secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder were present.
Earlier, chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus held a dialogue with political parties, including the Liberal Democratic Party and the Gono Forum, at the state guesthouse Jamuna.
Responding to a question, Mahfuj said that the government had a clear position about the Awami League and 14 parties who supported the Awami League.
