
Daffodil International University on Saturday hosted the 4th International Robo Tech Olympiad 2024 with participation from 134 teams representing 55 educational institutions from across the country, said a press release.
The competition was held at the Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Savar under the initiative of the university’s computer science and engineering department and Robo Tech Valley.
Different university, college and school students divided in six categories showcased their skills and innovative ideas through various modern robotics and technology-based competitions throughout the day in the event.
Dean of academic affairs of the DIU, Professor Mostafa Kamal, said, ‘Our educational programmes must consider their thoughtfulness and technical excellence. Everyone will get an idea about the future education and technology of the country through this event.’
Co-organiser Robo Tech Valley chairman, Ahsan Aqib, said that such an initiative would further expand the country’s education and technology as well as make it open to people of all ages.
Scientist, researcher and inventor of eco-friendly golden bag, Mobarak Hossain Khan, programme manager of Universal Access Program of Water Aid Bangladesh, Babul Mia, chairperson of the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter, Professor Ahsan Habib Tareq, dean of science and information technology of the DIU, Syed Akhtar Hossain, head of the CSE department, Professor Sheak Rashed Haider Noori, associate head of the CSE department, Professor SM Aminul Haque, among others, were present at the event.
