
Dhaka Metropolitan Police detetive branch arrested former expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmad in the capital’s Banani area at midnight past Sunday.
Confirming the matter, DMP additional deputy commissioner Obaidur Rahman Shamim said that Imran was arrested at mid-night past Sunday.
Imran Ahmed was elected from Sylhet-4 constituency five times and he was appointed as state minister for the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment in 2018.
In 2019, he was given a full minister’s responsibility of the ministry.
He was given the same post after the 12th parliamentary election held on January 7 this year.
