
A group of leaders and activists of the Awami League-backed Chhatra League in the early hours of Wednesday brought a flash procession on the Dhaka University campus.
A video clip showed that they started the procession from Madhu鈥檚 Canteen and proceeded toward the Central Mosque, wearing black caps and masks.聽
They were chanting slogans such as 鈥楽heikh Hasina will come, Bangladesh will smile鈥, 鈥楻emove Yunus, save the nation鈥, 鈥楤angabandhu鈥檚 Bangladesh鈥, and 鈥楳ujib, we see you in the red and green flag鈥.
The DU proctor Saifuddin Ahmed told 抖阴精品 that they had already identified a BCL leader who participated in the procession.
鈥楬e was vice-president of a unit of the BCL. Law enforcement agencies are trying to arrest him and other participants,鈥 he added.
Ashrefa Khatun, a Students鈥 Movement Against Discrimination leader, told 抖阴精品 that, they had demanded the DU administration to ban the BCL. 鈥楤ut the administration is taking no visible action.鈥
鈥業nstead, through the teachers of the Blue Panel, the BCL is being rehabilitated on the campus, and even getting opportunities to attend classes,鈥 she stressed.
The general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Nasir Uddin Nasir told 抖阴精品 that, after killing so many people in the student-seople movement, the BCL had lost the moral right to return to campus.
鈥楾hat鈥檚 why, they held a flash procession in the early morning, wearing masks and caps in a militant style,鈥 he added.
Expressing concern over the flash procession in support of the Awami League or the Chhatra League, Dhaka University Chhatra Shibir issued a statement.
In the statement released on Wednesday by Hosain Ahmad Jubayer, publicity and media secretary of the DU Chhatra Shibir, stated, 鈥楢 masked rally of the 鈥渢errorist鈥 organisation Chhatra League on an empty campus poses a serious threat to the security of the university.鈥
The DU Chhatra Shibir also strongly condemns and protests this incident.
