Air chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan on Wednesday visited the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.

He visited the management and security activities of the Air Force members at the airport under the In Aid to Civil Power, and gave a directive speech to them, said a press release.


He also thanked the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh chairman, air-vice-marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, and all concerned, including the executive director of the airport, for facilitating passenger services in a short period of time.

In the recent situation of the country, the force has been professionally performing security duties at various airports and surrounding areas with the help of civil authorities, he said, mentioning that besides providing additional security and assistance during the arrival and departure of the air passengers, the security team of the force was providing full cooperation in the safe take-off and landing of the aircraft.

He noted that positive progress had been made in curbing corruption and smuggling, facilitating quick access to baggage for passengers at the airport.

Hasan Mahmood also mentioned that the reputation of the airport had already spread in the country and abroad, adding, ‘According to ICAO’s guidelines for providing international quality services, all concerned should receive training so that the quality of services could be increased.’ 

Expressing the hope of showing utmost respect to expatriates, the Air Force chief said that they have an important contribution to the country’s economy.

Air-vice-marshal Rushad Din Asad, among others senior officials of the Air Force, was present during the visit, added the press release.
