Another person who suffered burn injuries following a blast from accumulated gas at a house at Dahargaon in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district, died on Thursday, raising the death toll to four.
The victim鈥擝abul Mia, 40,鈥攄ied at 5:00pm while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. 聽聽
Md Tariqul Islam, the resident surgeon of the institute, said that Babul sustained 66 per cent burns on his body.
Babul鈥檚 wife, Shelly Akhter, 35, who sustained 30 per cent burns, and their daughter Munni Akter, 22, with 20 per cent burns, are also in critical condition, the surgeon added.
On October 26, the fire broke out after a gas cylinder went off with a big bang at about 2:30am, leaving six garment workers injured.
Mughal Mia, a witness, said that the fire broke out at the house as someone tried to light a mosquito coil at night.
