Two people, including an army member, were killed in a head-on-collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and engine-run three-wheeler in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi, said the police on Friday.
The accident took place on Thursday night, said police.
The deceased were identified as Md Palash, 21, son of Mamtajur Rahman and Abdul Kuddus, 40, son of Tota Hajji of Manda and Raninagar upazilas respectively of Naogaon.
Of them, Palash was a soldier of the Bangladesh Army while Kuddus an imam of a mosque.
Mohanpur police station鈥檚 Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hannan said the accident occurred around 9:30pm when the autorickshaw carrying the two collided with the three-wheeler coming from the opposite direction in Saipara area, leaving them critically injured.
Locals rushed them to Upazila Health Complex where physicians declared them dead upon arrival, he said.
The OC said they detained the three-wheeler driver in this connection.
