Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research chairman Samina Ahmed at an event in Dhaka on Saturday emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability in government procurement to the scientists, officials and other trainees as financial irregularities broke strength of all development.
She made the remark in the opening ceremony of PPA 2006 and PPR 2008 day-long training held at the IERD auditorium of BCSIR.
The training organised under the overall supervision of council member (finance) and joint secretary Roknuzzaman, while various sessions were conducted by chief trainer, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Shipping and PPR expert, Md Sayemur Rashid Khan.
Finance and accounts director of BCSIR, Mahbub Hasan Khan, gave the trainees an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on the subject by asking various practical and applicable questions related to PPA 2006 and PPR 2008, said a press release.
