The internship orientation programme for the 8th batch students of faculty of animal science and veterinary medicine of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University was held at the Community Hall of the Student-Teacher Centre of the SAU in Dhaka on Sunday.

Presided over by Professor Md Abdul Latif, vice-chancellor of the SAU, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh member Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan was present as chief guest at the programme.


Tanzimuddin Khan said that internship was a good opportunity for veterinary students to enhance their talent and skills. ‘Overcoming all obstacles, they will become skilled veterinary doctor and participate in the development of the country.’

The VC said, ‘Just the knowledge acquired in textbooks is not enough for students, there is a need to acquire practical knowledge, which is created through this programme.’

SAU pro-VC Professor Md Belal Hossain, treasurer Professor Md Abul Bashar, and ASVM faculty dean Professor Md Jahangir Alam were present as special guests at the programme.

In this six-month internship programme, 100 students of the faculty will be divided into 20 groups and receive training in various government and private institutions, said a press release.
