An initiative of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, Professor Emeritus Dr Sultan Ahmed Choudhury Gold Medal Award ceremony was held at the auditorium of the National Science and Technology Complex in Dhaka on Saturday.
M Zahid Hasan, Eugene Higgins professor of Physics, Princeton University in the United States, attended the ceremony as chief guest.
Daughter of Sultan Ahmed, Zakia Rouf Chowdhury, executive vice-chairperson of Rangs Group, was present as the trustee representative. Professor emeritus Dr AK Azad Chowdhury, president, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, presided over the ceremony.
Professor Dr Haseena Khan, secretary of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences along with two other trustee representatives was also present at the programme, said a press release on Sunday. 聽
Professor emeritus Dr Sultan Ahmed Choudhury was a child specialist, and one of the founding members of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences.
