Professor AKM Yunus of the department presented the keynote entitled Philosophy of 2024 People’s Uprising in Bangladesh: Islamic Perspective at the discussion.
Highlighting the importance of philosophy education, Niaz Ahmed Khan said, ‘We need to strengthen our moral philosophy and ideals through the practice of self-improvement and self-criticism.’
He also said the distance between people was increasing as various divisions were being created in society now.Â
‘As a result of this, various types of disputes, conflicts, anarchy and unrest are being created in society. Such division is ultimately a defeat for humanity.’
He urged the philosophers and researchers of philosophy to play an effective role in solving all the disputes and divisions with the message of peace.
To mark the day, a procession was brought out from the Aparajeya Bangla with the participation of the department teachers and students, which ended at the Student-Teacher Centre.
Besides, a souvenir was unveiled on the occasion of the day.
