Rajshahi divisional passport and visa office deputy director Rozi Khandkar lodged a written complaint with the police seeking actions against those who went to her office on Wednesday to protest against irregularities and mismanagement.
She lodged the complaint with the Chandrima police station under the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police on Wednesday evening, alleging that the protesters had snubbed her and angrily spoke to her.
Earlier, about a hundred Rajshahi citizens including journalists, human rights and development activists formed a human chain in front of Rajshahi divisional passport office protesting at irregularities and mismanagement at the office.
At the human chain, the speakers alleged that the common people had long been harassed as applications for visas and passports brought by brokers were received and processed without any delay while those who came and stood in the queue without paying extra money to the brokers had to stand in the long queue for hours.
Later, the protesters met with DD Rozi Khandkar at her office and issued her a one-month ultimatum to put an end to all kinds of irregularities and mismanagement at her office.
A video clip of having an altercation with the protesters and DD Rozi went viral on social media, where Rozi was seen making a phone call to her senior officials when the protesters entered her office.
As Rozi did not drop the phone call despite repeated requests, the protesters became angry and misbehaved with her.
Contacted, RMP additional deputy police commissioner for the media told 抖阴精品 that the complaint lodged by DD Rozi would be recorded as a general diary with the police station.
DD Rozi Khandkar could not be reached for her comment over the phone despite repeated attempts.
