The Judiciary Reform Commission, formed by the interim government to ensure an independent, neutral, and effective judiciary, has invited public input through its official website, www.jrc.gov.bd.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the commission鈥檚 secretary, Mohammad Faruque, urged all stakeholders鈥攋udges, lawyers, court staff, and the general public鈥攖o submit their views by December 7, 2024.


Individuals with specific proposals for judicial reform or improving access to justice can also share their suggestions via email at [email protected] or [email protected].

Alternatively, written proposals may be sent to Judicial Administration Training Institute, 15 College Road, Dhaka-1000, by the same deadline.

The commission will also host three stakeholder discussion sessions鈥攐ne in Dhaka and two in other regions鈥攁imed at fostering broader engagement and diverse perspectives.

Chaired by former Appellate Division judge Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman, the commission includes retired High Court judges Justice Emdadul Haque and Justice Farid Ahmed Shibli, former Supreme Court registrar general Syed Aminul Islam, former district and sessions judge Masdar Hossain, Dhaka University law associate professor Quazi Mahfujul Hoque Supan, and senior Supreme Court lawyer Tanim Hussain Shawon.

The commission is set to present its final recommendations to the interim government by December 31, 2024.
