The Department of Persian Language and Literature of the University of Dhaka held an orientation and farewell programme of the new and outgoing students of the department at the Teacher-Student Centre auditorium of the university on Wednesday.
The DU vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided over by the departmental chairman, Professor Md Mumit Al Rashid.
Pro-VC for administration Professor Sayema Haque Bidisha, Iranian ambassador to Bangladesh Mansour Chavoshi, faculty of arts dean Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, and cultural counsellor of the Iranian Cultural Centre in Dhaka, Syed Reza Mirmohammadi, among others, spoke as special guests.
The convener of the program organising committee, Professor KM Saiful Islam Khan, delivered welcome speech at the programme, which was conducted by the department鈥檚 associate professor Md Ahsanul Hadi
Niaz Ahmed Khan extended his heartfelt congratulations to the new students and wished the outgoing students success in their future lives.
