Bangladesh Nationalist Party in a series of recommendations to the public administration reform commission has sought action against party-biased and corrupt officials working in the administration in the past 16 years.
A delegation, led by Ismail Jabirullah, a member of the BNP chairperson鈥檚 advisory council and a member of the party鈥檚 public administration reform committee submitted the short-, medium- and long-term recommendations to senior secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and member secretary of the public administration reform committee Md Mokhlesur Rahman at the secretariat in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
Jabirullah disclosed the information to the journalists after submitting the recommendations.
In the recommendations, the BNP also called for immediate identification of partisan and corrupt officials who had been working in the administration during the past 16 years of the autocratic Awami League regime.
After identifying, the officials who have crossed their 25-year job period, should be dismissed or appointed as officer on special duty or sent to less important positions.
The BNP committee also suggested giving promotion of honest and meritorious officials who were made OSD and sent to compulsory retirement in the past 15 years on the basis of merit.
