
Eminent Pakistani signer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on Sunday paid a courtesy call on information and broadcasting adviser Md Nahid Islam at Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka.
Nahid Islam, also the adviser of ministry of posts, telecommunications and information technology, mentioned Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was not only an asset of Pakistan, but also of the music world of the subcontinent and the whole world. He has many fans in Bangladesh.
Extending his gratitude to Rahat Fateh Ali for gracing the musical concert at the Army Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday, the advisor said there was a need to organise such a concert after the July Mass Uprising.
During the meeting, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expressed his interest to work together for promotion of Bangladesh’s melodies and cultural development.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan thanked the current interim government for the invitation to Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mohammad Wasif, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md Mushfiqur Rahman, and Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana were present.
