Another body was recovered from the debris of a button manufacturing factory in Gazipur鈥檚 Sreepur upazila Monday morning, raising the death toll from Sunday鈥檚 fire to three.
Sreepur police station officer-in-charge Joynal Abedin Mondal confirmed the recovery and
identified one of the deceased as Bablu Mia, son of Mozlum Mia from Lalmonirhat.
Gazipur fire service deputy director Mohammad Mamun said that two bodies were recovered Sunday night.
He added that identifying the victims was challenging due to severe burns.
The fire broke out at the M & U Trims Ltd factory at about 1:45pm Sunday and spread rapidly. Seven firefighting units brought the blaze under control by 3:45pm.
The cause of the fire remained unknown, said the fire service official.
