
Breaking the Silence, a child rights based organisation, has awarded fellowships on child protection to two journalists.
Each of the awardees received a cheque of Tk 30,000, a crest, and a certificate at the Fellowship 2024: Journalism to Protect Children event at the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific in Dhaka on Monday.
The awardees are the Daily Ittefaq’s staff reporter Rabeya Baby and Daily Ajker Patrika’s staff correspondent Archy Haque.
Addressing the event as chief guest, Dhaka University mass communication and journalism department professor Gitiara Nasreen said that the media should publish reports on positive initiatives taken for children’s development and entertainment.
Presided over by the Daily Ittefaq editor Tasmima Hossain, Breaking the Silence general secretary Roksana Sultana and journalist and researcher Afsan Chowdhury were also present at the event.
