Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University held the 10th annual senate meeting at the Conference Room of the university鈥檚 temporary campus at Pallabi in Dhaka on Sunday.
Vice-chancellor of the university and chairman of the senate Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury presided over the meeting, said a press release.聽
The assistant chief of Naval Staff (M) Rear Admiral Khandakar Akhter Hossain, director general of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Hoque, University Grant Commission member Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossen and other members of the senate were present at the meeting.
Chairman of the senate expressed his gratitude to the outgoing members and welcomed the newly-appointed members of the senate.
He also notified briefly to the senate about the activities has been held so far in the past year.
The revised budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024 and the main budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 of the university were approved by the senate, which was presented by the treasurer.
The 10th annual report (July 2023-June 2024) of BSMRMU was unanimously approved in the meeting as well.
The senate members expressed that the permanent campus of the university would be constructed soon and the university would be shifted as early as possible in order to open and functioning all the faculties and departments approved in the university鈥檚 TO&E.
They also hoped that the university would be the center of maritime excellence in maritime higher education in the country and also in the sub-continent by producing world class manpower, new knowledge and modern technologies in maritime sector.
They also expressed their satisfaction for the overall development of the university and assured to remain their wholehearted support for the betterment of the university as well.
