Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University held a meeting with the Information and Communication Technology Cell with the aim of strengthening online appointment services for the benefit of patients at the BSMMU in Dhaka on Saturday.

The meeting took place at the office of the BSMMU vice-chancellor, focusing on simplifying the process of obtaining outpatient tickets online, said a press release.


Chaired by the VC of BSMMU, Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam, the discussion centered on the full implementation and expansion of this service, including obtaining tickets and appointments online, online payment for tickets, and assigning the appropriate department based on the patient鈥檚 needs.

If outpatient tickets can be obtained and appointments confirmed fully online, patients will benefit. This will help avoid overcrowding at the outpatient department for ticket issuance. Patients will be able to access this service through the BSMMU website, added the press release.

The meeting was attended by pro-VC for administration Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, pro-VC for research and development Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader, treasurer Professor Dr Nahreen Akhter, registrar Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam, proctor Dr Sheikh Forhad, controller of examinations Professor Dr Md Zillur Rahman, director of ICT Cell Professor Dr AKM Akhtaruzzaman, private secretary to the VC Dr Md Ruhul Kuddus Biplab, system analyst of ICT Cell Md Maruf Hossain and assistant engineer Md Mahmudul Kader, among others.
