Leaders of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD, a partner of the Ganatantra Mancha at a protest rally in Dhaka on Tuesday alleged that the interim government headed by Professor Muhammad Yunus had introduced fascist culture by filing baseless cases like the Sheikh Hasina-led government.
The JSD organised the rally in front of the National Press Club in the morning protesting at a baseless case filed against organising secretary of the party, Mohammad Mostafa Kamal, by the interim government.
General secretary of the party Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon alleged that the interim government had filed the case against organising secretary of the party, Mohammad Mostafa Kamal, who played important roles during over 15 years fascist rule of the Sheikh Hasina government.
He called on the interim government to withdraw the baseless case filed against the JSD leader immediately.
Senior vice-president of the party, Tania Rob, said that filing baseless cases like the Sheikh Hasina government would tarnish the image of the interim government.
Chaired by Dhaka City west unit president Mainur Rahman, the rally was addressed, among others, by central leaders Mosharraf Hossain, Abdullah Al Tareque, Abdul Mannan Munshi and Moshref Hossain Montu.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
