Chief adviser professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to resolve the waterlogging problem in Chattogram.

He came up with the directive at a meeting of the council of advisers in Dhaka.


Speaking at a press briefing at foreign service academy in the capital about the outcomes of the meeting, chief adviser’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam said that waterlogging was common in Chattogram during the monsoon.

‘The chief adviser has instructed the authorities concerned to resolve the waterlogging problem as soon as possible,’ he said.

Shafiqul said that the city’s traffic congestion issue was also discussed in details at the meeting and quick steps would be visible in the coming days to improve the traffic situation.

Adviser Mahfuj Alam and chief adviser’s deputy press secretaries Abul Kalam Azad Majumder and Apurba Jahangir were present at the press briefing.
