A senior judicial magistrate court in Chattogram on Sunday allowed a police petition seeking the court’s permission to show a former lawmaker for Chattogram-15 constituency, Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadwi, arrested in five more cases.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Muminnun Nisa Khanam passed the order, Chattogram district court inspector Habibur Rahman said.

Of the cases, three – one for murder and two under the Explosive Substances Act -- were filed with Lohagara police station and two other cases were filed with Satkania police station under the Explosive Substances Act.

The court, responding to an appeal filed by Nadwi’s lawyer, instructed the jail authorities to provide Nadwi with division and medical care as per the prison code.

On December 15, the police arrested Nadwi at Uttara in Dhaka and showed him arrested in a case filed with Lalbagh Police Station over the murder of Dhaka Ideal College student Khalid Hasan Saifullah.
