Police have arrested a leader of banned student organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League in Ruppur area of Pabna.
The arrested is Riajul Islam Masum, general secretary of Natore district unit Chhatra League, police said on Friday.
Acting on secret information, a police team conducted a drive in Ruppur area Thursday night and arrested Riajul, said Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, Natore.
Riajul was also wanted in seven cases, including that of murder, said the OC.
Riajul went into hiding soon after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5 last year.
