The government on Sunday published the admission test results of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery where girls outshone boys.

According to the health ministry press release, for the 2024-25 academic session a total of 22,159 male candidates and 37,936 female candidates passed the exam.


In 2023-24 academic session, the results show that 40.90 per cent of the students passed the test are boys and 59.02 per cent are girls.

The intake test was held on Friday where a total of 131,729 students took the examination out of a total of 135,666 students, who had filled out forms for the medical education admission test.

The pass mark for the MBBS was fixed at 40 per cent of total marks and a total of 60,095 students have come out successful which are 45.62 per cent.

The applicant who secured the first position obtained 90.75 marks.

The admission window for eligible students for government medical colleges will be open from February 2 to February 8.

Meanwhile, the notification for online applications for admission to private medical colleges will be released on Thursday.

This year a total of 5,380 students will get opportunity to study in public medical colleges while 6,293 others will get the opportunity to study medical science at 67 private medical colleges across the country.
