Patuakhali 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant started its trial production early Sunday.
鈥楾he entire 660 MW of electricity of the first unit will be supplied to the national grid in phases,鈥� said Ashraf Uddin, supervisor of Patuakhali 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant, on Sunday.
鈥榃ork is going on in full swing to start production activities of the second unit [660 MW] in the next March,鈥� he added.
The authorities started production activities of the first unit (660 MW) at about 12:00am Sunday.
Currently, 110 MW of electricity generated by this plant is being supplied to the national grid.
Meanwhile, the officials and employees of the power plant are expressing happiness at being able to supply electricity after overcoming various obstacles.
