
Border Guard Bangladesh officials filed a case against twelve people, including five leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, on charge of snatching two buffaloes from them on Saturday.
Habildar Shah Alam of BGB Rajshahi Battalion-1 filed the case with Godagari model police station Sunday noon, said the police station officer-in-charge Ruhul Amin.
The accused are Md Mukul, 55, and his son Hasan, 28, Md Akkash, 59, and his son-in-law Md Jibon, 33, Md Bablu, 50, and his son Md Dollar, 32, Noyon, 35, Hamid, 35, Md Jony, 35, and his brother Md Tony, 33, Md Jony, 40, and Sizar, 30.
Akkas is former president of Deopara Union ward no-7 BNP, Bablu is president of ward no-7 BNP, Noyon is general secretary ward n0-9 Juba Dal, and Jony and Tony are the sons of Deopara Union BNP president Abdul Hi Tunu.
According to the case statement, acting on a tip-off that Mukul had smuggled two buffaloes from Indian and concealed them in nearby jungle terrain, a team of the para-military force conducted a drive at Nazipur village and recovered the buffaloes at 1:30pm Saturday.
While returning to the Rajabari BGB special camp with the buffaloes, the accused blocked the BGB personnel鈥檚 path at Rajbari Hat at 2:00pm, physically assaulted them, and snatched the buffaloes, wielding locally made weapons.
However, none of the accused could not be reached for their comments as they all went hiding following the incident.
