The body of a man hanging from a tree was found beside the Mathematics building on the Dhaka University campus on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is Abu Seleh, 45, a vagrant who reportedly moved around in the campus area.
The police recovered the body at about 10:00am on the day.
Shahbagh police officer-in-charge Khalid Mansur said that police took the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead at about 10:30am.

He said that the body was kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
鈥榃e primarily assumed it to be a suicide. The cause of the death will be known after receiving the autopsy report,鈥� Khalid added.
