The police on Wednesday recovered the body of a secondary school certificate examinee, who had been missing for the past three days, at Babuganj in Barishal.

The body of the deceased, Rabbi Hawlader, 18, was recovered from the garden next to his house at Purba Rahmatpur village in the upazila.  


He was an SSC examinee of Mohanganj School and College in the upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Airport police station of Barishal Metropolitan Police, Zakir Hossain Sikder, said that Rabbi left home around 1:00am on January 19.

As Rabbi did not return home, his family members filed a general diary with the police station on Tuesday, the OC added.  

Zakir Hossain said that Rabbi had sharp weapon injuries on his head. ‘This was a planned murder.’

‘The body has been sent to the Barishal morgue for autopsy, and murder case was filed in this connection,’ the OC mentioned, adding that drive was underway to arrest those involved in the murder.
