
The 38th meeting of the Inspection Report Review Committee was held at the Shaheed Dr Milton Hall of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka on Saturday.
Under the chairmanship of the BSMMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam, pro-VC (academic) pro-VC (administration) Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, pro-VC (research and development) Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader, treasurer Professor Dr Nahreen Akhter, deans of the faculty of surgery Professor Dr Md Ruhul Amin, faculty of medicine Professor Dr Shamim Ahmed, faculty of paediatrics Professor Dr Md Atiar Rahman, and secretary of the Inspection Report Review Committee, Professor Dr Zafar Khaled, among others, attended the meeting, said a press release.
The meeting discussed the affiliation of various courses to different medical colleges, course evaluations, the consideration of national demand when launching new courses, and strengthening monitoring activities for the existing courses.
The meeting emphasised on maintaining quality rather than increasing the number of courses.
The teachers expressed views that maintaining quality was key to producing skilled specialists.
