Students, teachers and officials of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University celebrated on Saturday as the university was ranked as the top university in Bangladesh in the Life Sciences category of Times Higher Education rankings 2025.
The university also celebrated its 27th founding anniversary on the same day, said a press release.
The events were graced by senior secretary of the ministry of education鈥檚 secondary and higher education division, Siddique Zobair as chief guest and commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Md Nazmul Karim Khan as special guest.
The ceremony was presided over by BSMRAU vice-chancellor professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman.
A colourful rally was brought out on the campus, featuring banners, posters, and paintings. Later, a discussion session was held at the university鈥檚 Begum Sufia Kamal auditorium. BSMRAU pro-vice-chancellor professor M Moynul Haque, treasurer professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad and registrar Md Abdullah Mridha spoke at the event.
