The newly elected committee of Bangladesh Gastroenterology Society held the inaugural meeting at the La Meridian in Dhaka on Saturday.

National professor Dr AK Azad Khan was present as chief guest while Professor Dr MT Rahman was present as special guest at the meeting, said a press release.


President of the society, Professor Dr AQM Mohsen, vice-presidents Professor Dr Md Shamsul Arfin, Dr ASMA Raihan and secretary general Professor Dewan Saifuddin Ahmed, among others, of the committee were present at the meeting.

The newly formed committee will take the necessary initiatives and plans to establish liver transplant medical services in the country and will play a leading role in its implementation with the cooperation of the government, mentioned the press release, adding that the society would work to ensure the provision of advanced treatment facilities to patients with IU.
