The Police Headquarters on Saturday said that they would reinstate the dismissed policemen, who were dismissed from the force on different charges during the ousted Awami League government tenure and won the cases to get their jobs at the Appeal Tribunal.
‘Arrangements are being made at the Police Headquarters to reinstate those who won at the Appeal Tribunal,’ said a press release issued on Saturday.
Those who did not file the departmental appeal against the dismissal or removal orders could not be considered for reinstatement due to legal obstacles, said the press release.
It also said that those who had criminal cases against them for financial corruption and other charges could not be considered.
A total of 1,522 applications for reinstatement of dismissed police personnel on various charges during the previous government’s tenure were received by the Police Headquarters.
Among them, 1,025 were constables, 79 were Naiks, 180 were assistant sub-inspector, 200 were sub-inspector/sergeants, 10 were inspectors and 28 were non-police members.
A committee headed by a deputy inspector general was formed in August last year to review their reinstatement applications and the committee already submitted a report with recommendations to the Police Headquarters.
The Police Headquarters in its press release urged the dismissed police members not to get engaged in any indiscipline acts.
